Summer is here and so is the hot weather! What our bodies need most is plenty of fluids to keep ourselves hydrated. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to reach for that water bottle, it’s already too late. Learn to hydrate all day in order to prevent dehydration. Here are 5 Tips to keep you cool.

Drink plenty of water all day long to ensure hydration. Drink a glass in the morning when you wake up and continue throughout the day as needed. Everyone’s body is different, however, you should consume roughly 8 cups of water a day.

Eat foods that are high in water content. Examples are: watermelon, strawberries, grapefruit, cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes.

Cool down! Learn to slow down, rest in the shade and drink fluids, especially if you’re feeling dizzy or fatigued.

Avoid drinks that are caffeinated, contain alcohol, energy drinks or sugary drinks, all of which will sap water from your body.

Flavor your water to make it more palatable. Add fruit and veggies to your water to add some great, natural taste which will encourage you to drink more. Lemons, limes, oranges, cucumbers and berries are great additions to a jug of H20.

Keep cool and Happy Summer!
