The Shanghai Buck was originally served at the Shanghai Club in the 1930’s. A Buck cocktail is made with a spirit, citrus, ginger ale or ginger beer. This refreshing version, made with ginger beer and freshly grated ginger, adds a spicy note to the buck.

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

4 oz ginger beer
2 oz white rum
½ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
Garnish: slice of lime

Fill a Collins glass with ice. Add the rum, lime juice, ginger beer and freshly grated ginger. Stir with a swizzle stick and garnish with a slice of lime.

Cheers!
