International Mother Earth Day – AKA Earth Day – is celebrated by millions of people around the planet every year on April 22nd. It is a time for us to give back and show respect to our environment. The theme for Earth Day 2022 is Invest in Our Planet: Preserve and protect the environment, our bodies, and our health.
Here are some ideas we can incorporate in to our daily lives to create a healthier lifestyle . If we each take steps to protect our beautiful world, collectively, we can make a difference.
Buy Local – Purchasing goods from local farmer’s markets and shopshelps to reducetransportation and pollution.
Clean It Up! – Whether it’s an organized group effort or when you’re simply out on a walk, help clean up trash in your surroundings.
Exercise – Walking and biking whenever possible is not only good for your health but helps to cut down on pollution.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Bring your own bag, bottle, etc. Reuse what you already have and properly recycle products.
Turn Off Lights – Cutting down on unnecessary power usage not only reduces your bills but will help lower carbon emissions.
Don’t Run the Tap – Fresh water is a precious resource! Turn off the tap when brushing teeth or washing hands.
Go Outside – Nature plays a huge part in our wellbeing. Getting in touch outdoors in the beauty of a natural setting eases the mind and body from daily struggles.
