Native to Mexico and Central America, this wonder fruit truly supports overall wellness. Avocados are not only rich in nutrients but are also an excellent source of potassium and beneficial to gut health. Because they are rich in vitamins B6 and B5, avocados may help fight fatigue, depression and stress. Avocados also contain healthy unsaturated fats which may lower the risk of cognitive decline.

Because of their anti-inflammatory properties, avocados also make excellent, moisturizing masks for face, body and hair.

Avocado Facial Mask:

  • 1 avocado
  • ¼ cup honey

Peel the avocado and remove the pit. Mash the avocado in a small bowl and add the honey, stirring until completely blended.

Apply to face and allow to dry, about 10 minutes.

Rinse face with cool water and pat dry.

Avocado Oil Facial Scrub

The brown sugar in this scrub exfoliates the skin while the avocado oil moisturizes.

  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Mix the avocado oil and the brown sugar into a paste. Gently massage onto the face in a circular motion. Rinse face with cool water and pat dry.

Avocados are also great for deep conditioning dry hair. Mash an avocado with a fork and massage into your hair. Allow to stand for about 5-10 minutes. Rinse completely.

Be well!
