November almost forces us to stop and observe our surroundings, knowing that before long, the brilliant reds, golden yellows and warm amber hues of the fall foliage will have fallen and the landscape will look entirely different. Perhaps that's part of their beauty, the reminder that some of life's loveliest moments are fleeting, and all the more special because of it.
As Thanksgiving approaches, gratitude naturally comes to mind. But giving thanks doesn’t need to be reserved for a holiday. It can be found in a leisurely meal shared with family, a good conversation or the familiar comfort of a favorite recipe.
For me, so much of what makes life meaningful is tied to these moments. Food has a wonderful way of bringing people together, traditions connect us to our past, and gathering around a table creates space for stories, laughter, and connection. Whether it's an elaborate holiday meal or a simple supper shared with friends, it's often the company and the memories we create that stay with us long after the plates are cleared.
