Il Sorpasso

This modern craft cocktail was created as an American homage to Italian aperitivo culture, bridging American whiskey culture with a bitter Italian mainstay.

Ingredients:

• 1 oz bourbon
• 1 oz Aperol
• 3/4 teaspoon honey
• 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 1/4 teaspoon sugar
• 2 oz soda water
• Garnish: 1 orange slice

Directions:

Pour all ingredients except the soda water into an ice filled shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into an old fashioned glass. Top with soda water.

Garnish with the orange slice.
