The Radler Beer was created In the 1920’s when a German tavern owner suddenly realized that he didn’t have enough beer on tap to quench the thirst of a large group of parched cyclists who had entered his bar after cycling through the Bavarian countryside. He quickly found a solution by adding sparkling lemonade to the beer and dubbed the drink the Radler, meaning ‘cyclist’ in German.
A Radler can be made with sparkling lemonade or any type of fruit juice, differentiating itself from the Shandy which is strictly made with lemonade.
Ingredients:
2 parts beer
